One of my favorite 20th Century Catholic preachers, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen (d. 1979) once said:
Moral principles do not depend on a majority vote. Wrong is wrong even if everybody is wrong. Right is right even if no one is right.

20th Century Supreme Court Associate Justice Potter Stewart (d. 1985) once said:
Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do.

Who decides what is “right”?
